i had 3 ally snappers at about 4". the more i held them, in time they didnt try and bite. i dont know if they would of later on bc i had to sell them, but do to the nature of them i would always hadle them thinking they where gonna bite. its there nature.
Might get a snapping turtle!!.. help!
