After separating my pair of Grammodes I put the male in the community tank but didn't really have a place for the female. She was starting to take out her fry in the breeding tank so I put her in with the Dovii. I put some piles of driftwood in so she could take refuge. At first she was still getting beat pretty bad and I thought she was going to get killed. After all she's 6" and he's going on 14". He could eat her in one bite if he wanted lol. To my surprise, when I went to the tank this morning, I found they had dug out a pit and are both guarding a batch of eggs on a rock. Presto, Dovii x Grammodes feeders.

i know a lot of people in the ca/sa section don't like hybrids but i personally think you just grow one or two out to see how they turn out, i think it'd be an interesting cross breed.

Thats what Id do with them.....

interesting. is this the pair you were looking to get rid of at one time?

Yeah, no body wanted them at that time though so I ended up putting them in a 30 gallon thinking it was temporary until someone bought them. I had to take the male out because the tank was just too small for him. He was starting to get depressed and was laying on his side at the bottom so I put him in the 265g and he's fine now. The female stayed in the 30 for a while longer until she started picking off fry.

Putting her in with the Dovii I was thingking, holy crap what if these two hook up, but I figured it was a slim chance.

That's what most people in this section would do with them.

Dovii x "mini-Dovii"? I don't know....they'll just look like a medium size Dovii.

Having some babies should make your male dovi even more aggressive, your wife will love it.

:ROFL: I know....I've already thought about that. Just went by the tank a minute ago and he's a freaking mad man.
