Might look at setting up Brackish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was looking at 5 monos - they get around 12", 3 columbian cats (whihc would not attain their 3 ft max yikes)

The archers would be excellent as well.

Skats too, or no

The monos were schooling at the lfs today, if that helps

They do fine without a "target". The green scat is Scatophagus argus.

I don't think either of those are schooling fish ;)
yeah they are, people think just because fish acheave large size they are not sholling fish. but there are largde preditors in the sea, which is why saltwater fish spawn in the mangroves. and so the fish that puffer punk said were shooling are... she knows what she is talking about. most Brachish fish end up back in the ocean as well so all im saying is take puffer punk for her word she is the forum deity in the brachish forum:headbang2

I saw a huge school of monos swimming in the Philippines...

As per Dr Neale Monks (author of BW Fishes & a friend of mine):
"They live in estuaries in large groups, and rely on schooling for defence."
" remember, it's a SCHOOLING BRACKISH WATER fish, and cannot be kept singly"
"when kept singly or in pairs tend to be far less settled than when in groups of three or more"
"are social animals... likely are "schooling" with their reflection."
"Is a social species... should be kept in a small grouping"

Scroll down a little lower & you'll see my responses on that page too. ;)

Also: "These guys grow very large and the typical recommendation is about 50 gallons per fish"

You've got enough fish planned there for >1,000g!

They get as large as your outstretched hand.
