I was at a LFS today, and they had some very large (relatively) yo-yo loaches. A lot bigger than the ones I've seen at petsmart...same price. I bought all 4 :)

There were originally 2 small ones in my 29, but one mysteriously died. So I know have a whole pack of them. I was thinking though, would they do fine in my 75? I've got clown loaches in it already, plus my male GT. I think they may seem a bit cramped in the small tank. They're in a bucket right now though.

The way they were behaving at the LFS was pretty funny, I thought. There was a chunk of rock in the tank, which they were using as a cave. Whenever anyone came close to the tank, they would worm their way under and only their heads and tails were visible (not a very big rock).

not yet, I will after I put them in the tank.

They aren't huge...but significantly more beefy than my current yo-yo. Whats the largest these typically get?

yep they immediately tried to burrow under a large rock. I had forgotten to make any caves, so I cleared out some sand from under it for them. The old loach looks tiny compared to the new ones.

so hard to photograph! Here is one that is reasonably focused though.

one of them apparently thinks its a salmon. It jumped up the waterfall from my HOB filter, and was sitting on a sponge when I found it. No bears in my tank, luckily.

6 inches is the max. Mine is near it, only 5 inches though. Your yoyo will develp reticulated patterns. They're prettier than the simple YOYO pattern.
