I noticed this morning one of my motoro rays had a stinger stuck in its back.It did not look deep so i took some really long tweezers and pulled it out.It was in further then i had thought. Now the ray is lifeless just sitting in the same spot for hours now and breathing faster then normal.I do not see any redness or swelling and i can not even see where exactly i pulled it out from.Is there anything i can do for him?Thank you ahead of time.

at this mpoint there is not much to do but keep up with water quality and 1 tblspn per 5 gallons to try and help the wound heal faster. I, personally, dont believe in medicating a rays tank but see what other say

oh yeah and temp to at least 84-86 if it isn't already

like Michael said raise the temp and add some salt, dont worry to much, unless it has hit a vital organ it should be fine, one of my male leo's got stabbed not so long ago and he was fine. good luck

ditto.... and ditto... my 18" leo got it right next to his mouth

Thanks,I raised the temp when i first noticed and did add salt,I did a big water change last night and that is when they were acting all frisky.

Did the stinger poke through from the underside?

up the temp....add some salt.... keep the water clean... the stingers are not meant to be pulled out and i wonder if you did some damage pulling it out if it was in deep.... there is no magic cure or anything else you could do....a lil mela and pima couldnt hurt....
