*GE-1 Silicone (Home Depot): $3.37/ea
ASI #502 Silicone (Home Depot): $?.??/ea
DAP Aquarium Silicone (ABlackHorse.com): $5.84/ea
Perfecto Aquarium Silicone (PetSmart.Com): $5.99/ea


Ok so I have a few questions..

Can I buy the DAP type silicone at the HomeDepot/Lowe's? I haven't looked yet, but heres the link and that brand looks very familiar.. http://www.ablackhorse.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=15213&idcategory=543

How much does the ASI #502 cost, because JD_Man stated that it says intended for aquarium use..

I bought the DAP silicone at Lowes a few weeks ago. It was in the glue section, not by the other silicones.

GE II is supposed to be superior in strength to GE I. Just compare the packaging

10.3oz is what I have been listing.. Only been searching for the caulking gun type..

I keep finding all sorts of 3oz tubes in my searches, but don't want em..

I think I might go with your 'peace of mind' idea and pay the little extra for the DAP aquarium silicone..

GE type 1 used to say aquarium safe several years ago but for liability reasons they took it off the discription. I used it to glue a styro concrete background into the tank and used close to a whole tube which is way more then any seal would require and had no problems at all. Just let it cure for 48 hours and fill with water. Basicaly any brand that says 100% silicone on the tube and does not have any mildew resistant stuff in it should be fine
