Milfoil is overrunning my pond - i need help please.

Hi, somehow milfoil got in my pond and it is taking over!!!

i have tried to rake it out and within a few days it is all back.:irked:

Milfoil is a big bad issue up here in northern wisconsin.:(

1. is my pond and fish in danger?
2. if so, how can i combat the milfoil?

ok, the thought of having carp in the pond is wonderful.

could it be that simple?

if so, any advice on what kind of carp and where to get them from?

how deep is the pond? if its deep enough you could always get average koi as long as aeration is plentiful. and its deep enough.
 
white amur is the species. common name grass carp. highly vegetarian. any fish hatchery will have them , usually 8 bucks or so a piece. check with your state, here in va we have to apply for a permit to stock them.
 
Triploid Grass Carp are banned in WI. They also consume beneficial and native plants. Contact www.keystonehatcheries.com for algaecide for the Milfoil. They specialize in pond care for WI and IL.

Keep manually raking out the weeds. In early spring you can add pond dye and Sonar/Avast to control the weeds. Sonar is much cheaper and can be purchased in small quanities.
