I'm wondering if any of you are military fish keepers. If so, what do you do when you PCS/ETS? I don't want to get rid of my fish, but I don't know of a way to get them from North Carolina to Oregon. Oh, and if there are any around Ft. Bragg we need to link up. If I can't find a way to get them cross country they'll eventually need a new home.

I can't speak for what most do since I am not in the services but you won't see a post made by any man or woman in our armed forces that I don't thank them for what they do, so thank you for your services Micah!
There are LOTS of us in the NW and not too far from Fort Bragg. Do you have any place local to you that could ship? I am sure a few of us would step up to help in any way we can.

In 21 years in the Navy, most of my PCS orders were to new commands in the same area. The couple of times that I did have to move, I had friends willing to care for my fish until I could send for them or return to the area. It was easy in SoCal because of the SDTFSociety. Out of over 8k members, I was always able to find folks to care for my fish when I deployed, TAD'd, or PCS'd.
Are you letting the military move you? If they move you they will crate up your aquariums and equipment and ship them with your HHGs. As for fish I've had people ship them to their new location and keep them in a temporary tank. The only problem with military moving is the turn around time it takes to get your HHGs where your going.
I was only in the Marines for four years, so I took a break from fish-keeping. I considered staying in though and that was a question for me as well.
