Not me, but my folks were service people.
Dad served in three services through three wars.

They loved the western desert and that's where they are buried, in the old pioneer's cemetery, outside of town.

Dang man. Your pops must have been young when enlisted for ww2. Hats of for him.

His brothers joined the Army, but they wouldn't take Dad because he was barely 17. The Navy took him , and put him on the Shakedown Cruise of the USS Columbus. He was injured at the docks in Port Chicago** in a shipping accident and they sent him around the world on a hospital ship back to New York.


**Port Chicago is in the San Francisco Bay Area.

So far 14 years active duty Army. 6 more and I can transition to doing what I love full time...watching fish videos on youtube.
