Milky Pool Filter Sand Water.

I always buy .5 - .8mm sand so mine is less milky than a .3mm PFS.

very strange. Can you imagine someone spending $10,000 on a custom pool and the pool filter sand turns his pool into milk? This stuff is well rinsed. I use it and have not had any problem with it.
Check: Was it crushed quartz? maybe it is a lower grade product?

Thank's for the help everyone. I'm going to try to rinse it well while syphoning out the water at the same time until it clears up, I'll make sure all the sand moves and is washed until it's clean in the tank!

Also, just one more question, if a fish passes over sand and it flies up, the grains will sink again very soon after wont they?

Just having a hard time convincing my dad that they will settle again shortly after.

ya it will i had sand in my 55 with my pecrh and oscar for while and when the oscar chased the perch it would kick up sand and settle down quite fast

Yes it will settle back down fast even with small grain sand. I have small grain in my 40 gallon and when my Salvini goes nuts he leaves a sand roost behind him but quickly settles.

Awesome. My tank is almost empty, and I'm going to keep it syphoning while I keep washing the water in the tank until it washes all around clear

I cant wait til this water clears up, just to prove a point to my parents.
