A standard ten is not enough. I have had amazon swords with a 15" rosette, and roots that touch all four sides of a 55. While a 55 is not required, these plants need far more space than what the top look like it needs. For an 8x8x36, assuming that you are running very low lighting, I would stick to anubia nana and a. barteri.
