The best realistic tank for a Silver Aro is a 300wide 96x30x24 and a Jar would be a 180 6x2x2 but jars arent good with tankmates...

My silver likes my 6'x4' tank-
But I do also believe it's a cruel tank to keep it in-----Extra length would be nice...(it was donation,when I was gone on vacation and just dumped into my tank-or I would have turned it down) so no flameing me please

I would say the area of the tank kind of makes up for the length... it can swim in bigger circles rather then a lap pool
