Min. Tank size for festae pair?

if your buying new from the store, then you could definitely find two tanks on craigslist for the price your paying at the store... i would def take a look at your listings online to see what people are getting rid of, you find some amazing deals on there sometimes of people just wanting to clear up the space

That's a pretty good idea. I'll have to see most of the listings in person though, I had a couple bad experiences with used tanks.

yeah you def have to be careful and make sure you look at it before hand and everything, its usually a good practice to ask them to fill it before you get there so you can see first hand that it holds water and what not
 
I never, EVER buy fish tanks brand new from the store. The deals on craigslist and various forums are just too good to waste money getting it all new, imo!

That's usually what I ask for, most are reluctant to do so.

I know firsthand that females can get at least 11"...and males can get over 13". And that's grown out in a tank, not a big pond. I think they're still growing too.

My pair are in a 156g, (5'L x 2'W x 25"T). It's plenty of room for now. I'm lucky my pair seem to have a very strong bond.
