Min tank size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The large ones the LFS picked up could have been wild caught, but they came in with the blue/pink spot gobies that were 8+inches. Not to say that they won't stay smaller in a smaller system, but I've seen the size difference vary greatly with these guys.

Hmm anyone know anything about court jester gobies? I love these dudes :D and Gobiodon citrinus and Amblygobius hectori and Gobiodon strangulatus and Opistognathus aurifrons and Nemateleotris helfrichi ... LOL But I love all of these fish..:D

A. hectori are court jesters no?

They are petty small and could work in as little as 10 gallon, but whatever tank they go in I'd have a good bit of hair algea beforehand

Ok..Any ways of growing hair algae? Also court jester is Amblygobius rainfordi looks very similar to hectori though..I really like the citrinus and black clown gobies..

Hmm how about a 120 ltr with a bi-colour angel and a selection of 4 of those gobies?

What wouldbe min tank size for: Black clown goby, citrinus clown goby, court jester goby and a bi coloured angelfish???

They would need at least a 40gal tank or bigger. The Bicolor angelfish can be very finicky and in my experience is not very hardy compared to many other commonly available dwarf angels like the flame and coral beauty angelfish for example.Dwarf angels are known prey items for many larger reef fishes. Which explains their inquisitive and alert behaviour. Placing these fish with larger predatory species should be avoided (ie: Groupers/Bass, Lionfish, Triggers). Correspondingly, smaller docile tankmates should be avoided. As they will tend to get chased around the tank regularly. Although many keepers have successfully housed Bicolour angels with smaller species, caution should still be considered. Dwarf angels are best introduced into communities last or close to it.

I would say a 29 to a 40gal .The bi coloured angelfish would be happy in the 40..
