ok.........so i know i don't always capitalize beginnings of sentences, "i's", and proper names........but i know where apostrophes go.
a tutorial;
you are.......to make this into a conjunction, you are taking out the "a" and replacing it with an apostrophe.
"your" is possessive. it does not (doesn't) mean "you are"
"your web page sucks"
"you're an ass"
we are.........again, to translate into conjunction form, replace the "a" with an apostrophe.
were is past tense....the verb "are" (as seen in we're) is present/future tense.
"you were an idiot back there"
"we're idiots"
a lot. A lot. A LOT. a LOT.
COMMONLY USED a lot is TWO SEPARATE WORDS.
ALOT doesn't (woah...does not) exist. ALLOT means to "assign as a portion; set apart;dedicate." Many of us do not use allot in day to day vocabulary...if you do, congratulations..because you already get it....otherwise, this is how one would use "allot" if he or she were so inclined to do.
"Please allot five minutes for yourself to get over the antagonized feeling you may have right now. I'm only writing this to slow the decline of the intelligent human because i love brainpower a lot."
