  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
pardon my ignorance in this, but did you just tuck the pond liner under that top 6x6 and nail it shut or something?
also, why did you use styrofoam on the inside? just to protect the liner from scratches or holes etc?
very cool :)

Awesome idea, what are you stocking the tank and pond with? complimentng species? Or is it more of a space saving thing ahaha.

Styrofoam was probably for both padding and insulation. I'd be a bit worried about a big tank sitting on top of three pieces of wood though . . .:nilly: But then again, there is a pond right underneath, so your fish will be relatively safe at least if the tank falls in.:D

20"+ Giant red tail
20"+ Tiger shovelnose

Corrected..... and also help to maintain the temperature.

There will be three 6"x6" under the tank so that should be taking care of.

I tuck the pond liner under 2x4 and nail it shut. 6x6 got nothing to do with the pond liner. All There 6 x 6 were sit on top of the concrete blocks.

Rubbermaid 55 Gal. BRUTE Utility Container use as filtration.

Filter Media:

Bottem of it will be place corals, and 20 lbs Ammo Rocks.

15 gals Bio balls on top of it.
1 large piece Laguna Power Flo Filter Media
2 pieces Super High Density Gray
20 oz Activated Filter Carbon
1 large piece Blue Bonded Filter Pad

Water pump: 1500 gph TetraPond DynaTec Pumps are use for this system, but eventually i will need a larger pump. 3000 gph at least.

I filled bio media in the Overflow Boxes of the 220 gals tank with stronge air pump for bio media circulation and create oxygen.

I also use another 20 gals tank as filter and 10 lbs Ceramic Rings and few pieces of Super High Density Gray placed in the chamber to trap Dirt and create more bacterials.

In addition. An overflow will run through another 30 gals tank and will have none but plants in there.

4 x 30lbs of sand has been add in the 220 gals tank, that's why water was so cloudy but it should be clear in few days.

Water: 50/50 old water and tap water... I also added old sponges from my other tanks and put in the 55 gals container.

Enjoy
