got some real piranhas already :) (well...not the "true" piranha a.k.a pygos)

that's a good idea. you think they'll be ok in cold water?

i doubt it but a heater for a ten gallon isn't very expensive.

star fish Can be vicios e.g. crown of thorns, chocolate chip, red knobby
all will chase down a scallop and eat it! ALL ecinoderms are monsters!!!! except for sea cucumbers they just look like big turds on the sea floor.

a scallop... lol that definitely doesnt make them a monster. the smallest humming bird can eat a snail... like i said. monsters must be strictly defined. mosquito fish are just over grown guppies... even if they did kill will's fish that doesnt make them any more fun to watch then a starfish in persuit of a scallop at 1cm per hour... not monster at all.

maggots eat rotting meat... in a microscope you can see their shark-like teeth but that doesn't make them monster. they are still small, fat, ugly, and gross. and worse off mature into flies

FAIL!!!!

Mosquitofish are pretty vicious livebearers. I lost lots of fish, even bigger ones (few African cichlids) to these damn gambusias. Even dwarf puffers lost their lives to these mosquitofish. So lets drop the monster define, its too general. I believe its called personal taste..:screwy::screwy:

So some people likes puffers, some like blood parrots, some like crayfish, some like angelfish, some like harmless shrimp and some like mosquitofish. Its nothing wrong about them, its personal tastes in different people which I dont see anything wrong with it. I believe this forum is not about keepers who keep monster fish.

I'M fail???

there is nothing wrong with any type of fish keeper. yes personal taste and all, but there is common sense... what your saying is like a toyota prius driver trying to fight his case on a drag racing forum. just because it can still cause a fatality in a collision doesnt make it fast when u have a wide spectrum of cars to compare it to, many of them being much faster and built for the purpose. and any1 can make a never-ending bebate over what "is" or isn't" for any subject.

but at the end of the day most people think of monsters at the highest level of the word.

Again, use term as monster is too general. And again this forum is NOT about keep Monster fish, its about how we monsterous cares about their fish. Yes you are fail.

the thread retuks was referring to actually WAS about monster fish, not their keepers. hes not saying theres anything wrong with those types of fish, hes just saying that they dont belong on the mini monster thread.

^ I am talking about that thread too. Any fish can be monster but then again its all people's opinions. It is pointless to see which fish are labelled as monster as monster can mean anything (monster sized, monster predatory, monster aggressive etc..) Even guppies can be monster too as you have ugly fancy strains and few see thru guppies.

If you want mini predatory fish that eat full grown guppies or if you want mini super aggressive fish who like abuse other fish then just say specifially instead of use mini monster.
