thats because theyre characins, and directly related to the piranha. pretty much the closest thing you can get to a school of Ps. and you dont need a huge tank. lol

thanks. this is one of my 2 shoals. these are some of the only tanks i dont get bored with. unfortunately, thewy try daily to eat me out of house and home. they have quite an appitite
 
a pim pictus?
those are 6" fish ive seen some larger too. they are recomended at least for a 55 because they are so active. a 15 hex wouldnt house one long term, but you could just move him to a different tank when hes too big.

as for suggestions what about some glass catfish, their strange and awesome at the same time
