mini niger catfish ?

i saw a niger catfish today and man those are so cool! but there's no way i can provide a proper home for a 2-3' monster...

are there any other small cousins of this species that stays under or well under 1 foot?

sorry i know close to nothing about catfish but seeing those niger catfish today makes me really interested.

get onto planetcatfish.com and check out any of the doridae family. the raphael cats are closely related but don't get near the size or personality the niger's do.

are there catfish that look either like nigers or giraffes that stay a more aquarium friendly size? i.e. around 1 foot or less

I've got a Niger they are awesome aren't they. Giraffee catfish remind me of them and they don't get as big, but like it has been said. Rapheal cats are a good substitute.

ive never had a niger catfish, but i have several raphaels and they seem to hide all the time, so they dont have the same personality, there is a cousin to the giraffe catfish, the dwarf giraffe catfish, but from people on here ive heard they are very shy. I would definately go and look on planetcatfish and go through the doradidae family.
