11x5x18"
OR
9x3x24"
Could adding length and width justify the height? I am just number crunching with a few different things. I want to do a glass tank, but if i need the height its going to be fiber glass... at least thats what its looking like.
These are not the actual demenions for the tank yet, just easier numbers to work with. Yield will form the tank dimensions for sure

( in my mind anyway) I have had this discussion in regards to glass tnaks a couple of weeks back, and it seems that 750mm (30"ish) is the highest you can economically go in glass before you start going to acrylic...
Just putting my 2c in... But I would go shorter, but longer and wider.
where are you getting the glass from?TheCanuck;4440377; said:I really want to do glass, and not fiberglass. It would be a 4D tank, which would be badass. Only issue is i need it to be 16-18 inches tall in order for the price to add up it seems. Maybe i could get away with the horn in 18in. I know lxw is more important but there is a point where the line needs to be drawn for the minimum. Trying to get the best varied answers here.
I agree though, deff 18 inch if i can, but my horn might really beef up

even if you want a viewing window - you could still do a fiberglass tank with a viewing window for about $2,000.
Here's a link were you can get a 8'x4'x 30" tank for about $1,500, or a 8'x4'x3' fiberglass tank for about $1,900.
