I agree with most of the above. But at least ime, with the individual variation of those I've had, the facial markings weren't always foolproof. Not that I'm disagreeing with anyone, since it could easily be variation between breeding strains or individuals.
But, definitely, adult males are clearly larger, showier, and a different head profile with any I've had. To me it's similar to other species (including a lot of African species, some of the geos I've had, etc.) where juvies look female-ish until the males start to develop their male characteristics, including-- at least ime-- developing more of the wormy markings on the face.
