minimum sized tank

what type of piranha are you going to keep. if you are going to keep a rhombeus than yes as long as it is small. it will only be suitable till it gets 5 to 6 inch than you will have to upgrade to a larger tank. if your going to keep red bellied piranha it will only be suitable for a small group of juvenile piranha only for a short amount of time because they grow really fast. i've kept 9 5inch red bellied piranha in a100 gal tank. and right now i have 5 juvenile black peru rhombeus in a 100 gal no fighting as long as you pute wood and plants and make sure that they are full all the time that way they don't try to kill each other or nip fins. good luck

sorry i posted just after...so i wouldnt be able to keep a single piranha in a tank that small? of any kind? Thanks you for the help!

would i be forced to get a bigger tank when the piranha got too big? or is there a species that doesnt get as big? how big would they get? thanks for the info! i cant find much on the internet!

no problem the rhombeus piranha grow extremly slow so if you get a small one you can keep it in your 30 gal for a couple of years. they are really aggressive and a fun fish to own.

The problem is that I dont see myself getting a bigger tank for a long time...til i have a place with space and i have 5 years of school left. do u know of any type that would never grow out of a 30g?
