you can keep a Sanchezi in 30g. bigger will be better but it should be fine since it only get about 7-8"
aquascape has some purple Sanchezi available now.

or a solo Tern, Caribe or Red Belly,..

Personally I think they will be too big for a 30g tank, I'd like to provide more space for them to swim in.

a Sanchezi would be great. They have alot of personality, look almost like a red belly and would take a long time to outgrow a 30g. They are pretty aggressive and chase fingers without much shyness. Some rhoms take a long time to loose their shyness and in the meantime are really boring. Mine wouldnt eat in front of me for 2.5 years and even now he doesnt like to do it.

IMO solo red bellies dont seem too interesting. They probably arent very happy either.

Don't go with a single redbelly. They all have different personalities but i'd say it's a safe bet that it'll end up having the personality of a couch potato. It'll be shy and skittish and if it ever breaks out of that mold, it'll just hover in one spot, belly on the substrate.

You'll be disappointed. Your fish will be unhappy. You'll end up having to give it to someone else that'll be disappointed...or someone else will introduce it to their already established tank without doing the research and it'll get killed and everyone involved will be disappointed.
