Hi,

Just wondering what you would say a minimum tank size would be to breed cons? I've got a spare 30 Litre which I want to put to use, until I eventually use it as a grow out once my Malawi's running....

Cheers

They can breed in a tank as small as a 10g, but a 29g or 20g Long would be better

Most cost-efficient method: one 10g for the breeding pair, one 10g for the fry. Keep adding 10gs to the 'system' for further growout, unless you are breeding for feeders, or selling wrigglers!

heck a bucket would work on those horny baby makin fish lol dont do the bucket i was just kidden but a 10g will work fine

If the male and female are both ready and in the mood, then a 10g tank would be fine. If the male is horny and the female is unready or unwilling a 10g will lead to certain death of the female.

Best bet is a 29g or a 20g long(30" x 12" footprint). Provide adiquate hiding places for the female.

at walmart they had a special where you could get a 10gallon kit for like $20. might want to check that out
