minimum tank size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
jardinis stay smaller and some of them sure are pretty, but you'll end up having to keep it alone. Adult jardinis relentlessly attack their tankmates.

a 4x2x2 is way to small for any aro

most aros get to 24inch thats half the lenght of the tank

the aro would be oh im at the end of the tank oh im at the end of the tank oh im at the end of the tank

lots of people from asian countrys try to fool themselfs that a 4x2x2ft tank is big enought for a asian aro thats crap its way to small but its the biggest tank most people can fit in the house so to make them selfs feel better about keeping their fish in such a small tank they tell poeple a 4x2x2ft is good enought

thats what i thought, ive read people keeping them in 4x2x2, and that seems really cramped and not fair at all, i would ideally like a silver, with maybe 2 other fish, possibly oscars, but i am not all that familer with arowanas, so ive been trying to do the research, but i cant find a definit answer

well silvers get very big like 3ft+ so you will need a tank thats 7-8ft long x 30-36inch min size silver aro are a lot more bendy than asian aros as their scales are smaller and can turn around much more easy than a asian aro

dont go on tank size buy the amount of gals it holds go buy size in inches or cm

as all this 180gal tank could be any size it could be 3ft deep and only 12inch wide
who cares how many gals it holds as long as its wide enought and long enought thats the main thing with aros

You can keep silvers with pretty much anything that wont fit in their mouth (Generally)
If you would like a good example of odd fish that can live with a silver check out my gallery

I would say that the minimum footprint for an aro would be 8x3. If I do get one hes going in my 6x2 untill he and my other fish outgrow it. Then I'll build a tank with at least a 8x3 footprint.

I had a bad experience with aros and oscars. I had a 6" oscar and a 10" silver aro in the same tank once and the oscar used to hit the aro from below and beat him up pretty bad. I separated them and the external damage healed, but he died 2 weeks later probably from the internal injuries.

i dont appreciate your words by directing such criticism towards Asian countries. If it wasnt for Asian countries breeding aro,u wont have any asian aro in your house

asians are illegal in the us i believe someone should start an orginization to reintroduce asians into the wild once they come off the C.I.T.E.S. list we could get them here and sorry buddy but 4x2 is too small of a foot print tank must be a minumum width the same as the aro's length and atleast 3 times longer that means minumum footprint to grow out a healthy happy aro is 9'+x3'+ thats huge

my point is, he shouldn't have criticise other countries.it is rude.please specify that particular person and not Asian countries.Thank you
