Minnimum tank size for a jag?

I agree, I have my jag in a 48X15X19 currently and with a good power head seems to be quite happy. There is plenty of room to turn around and swim in the current. It's not my long term plan to keep him there but he actually is working in there a lot better than I exspected.
 
depending on how long you plan on keeping the jag, i had some that got to a solid 16" and they were in a 265g remember jags get bigger then oscars
 
to keep a male jag long term I wouldn't want anything less than 24" deep. a 120 would be ok but a 180 would be great.
 
I think a male Jag can be grown out in some of the tank sizes mentioned, but eventually deserves at least a 6' x 18" footprint to do him justice and achieve it's potential max size. They're the second largest Parachromis and don't max out at around 12" like Motas and Freddies.

Think about greenterra's Jag. Some of the other guys here have monster jags too but greenterra's is my fave.
