I just purchased a Miracle Beam laser light system. It has 2 laser lights and they are pretty cool. I installed it in my 30 gallon tank.

It indicates it is benefial for fish by killing harmful bacterias which cause infections and such.

My ? is: will this hurt the good bacteria in the tank? If so, I am gonna pack it up and take it back.

Thanks

i dont know much about it, but i would say its probably not going to discriminate between bacteria. i think they mostly have the same composition so they'd most likely be killed similarly. but hey, like i said, i have no experience with it lol. i'd say look online at different sites with the product or customer reviews. hopefully someone can help you out. good luck!

it sounds like it may work in a similar way to a UV sterilizer and if it does then it wont harm your filter bacteria which are the ones that count.
as Bethany said though it wont discriminate between good or bad bacteria. it will just kill all that it gets contact with, ie not the filter bacteria.
