Headed to Milford today with Mike and we each caught some Mirror Carp and I caught a Channel and lots of Bullheads. Weather was awesome today, all caught on bread and the bullheads on hotdog.

thats a mighty fine looking bullhead, i caught one half that size over the summer. why is the carps scales missing? my buddy caught a common carp awhile back with the scales missing and we figured it was diseased.

No Bullhead in the photos, thats a Channel. The carp are missing scales because they were breed to eat, the less scales to remove the easier they were to filet. Some have no scales, those are leather carp. Havent caught one of those yet but I'm sure I will soon.

I wonder if these mirror and leather carps swimming around in the Minnesotan waters....

There are many mirrors in MN waters and some very large
specimens to be had.True leathers are extremely rare to
nonexistent in North America.

Very nice carp actually rather pretty . Are they invasive by you or stocked?

We have stocked Asian grass carp but not nearly as nice as those.

Mostly likely invasive as these days the people quit stocking the common carps in any waters or at least most of people quit stocking them. I never heard anyone who stock common carps in United States on purpose (in present days) except the koi carps.

I always want catch a leather carp but seems they are more common in UK than in North America. From what I heard that they are not hardy as their scaled and mirror cousins.
