looks good to me.
I've found the mirror doesn't need to be used too much on my fish.I don't know if it helps kok growth,but maybe,since it could be competition that spurs the growth.You will learn about your fishes personality w/this.My p-smart kamfa goes off for hours if he sees a mirror!

i honestly don't think there's a "best" time to use the mirror. just use it when you want. All it is doing is promoting dominance. Fish that are typically more dominant shine better and display their potential. This goes for almost all fish. That's why when you place the same species of fish, typically the dominant male looks the best.

You could just have another flowerhorn with a clear divider do the same exact thing as a mirror.

Hell you can use your finger to promote activity by waving it in front of the glass lol....all the same ****

If its a new fish I would keep it alone for a while let it get comfortable in its new surroundings then put the mirror in for 10 mins or so a day water temp helps too warmer water usually makes fish more active and aggressive
