ok so i would like this to be some what of a picture thread but how many of you here have bought a fish and found out it wasnt what it said it was. i thought bout this thread cuz i saw all these petco red texas and the petco kamafas threads. so post some pics of your fish that u got misnamed or just say what u have seen also any fish that you have found mixed in with a shipment, i would also like to see those.

so for example
for the mixed in fish it was a tanginikan brichardi cichlid that came in with about 50 red terror fry
and as for missnamed it was a green sunfish that my lfs was calling a green terror
 
Wow some of those are pretty bad.
I found when I lived in England almost everything there was mislabeled. the problem is that they put the name exactly as it appears on their invoice. so if they order "jack dempsey" and get a shipment of texas cichlids they sell them as "jack depmsey" because as far as theyre concerned the company that sold them to them is more knowledgable than customers. which sadly isn't true.
 
A common one near me is clawed frogs labeled as dwarf frogs. I bought one for my community tank a while back before I knew the difference and after a couple months it got so big then I noticed my school of about 20 neons was getting smaller then eventually he ate every one of them

Pike characin labled as freshwater barracuda, paid 50$¡!

I got duped with the same damn, fish it was labeled as south american spotted gar. I knew it wasn't what they had it as but I thought it was a florida gar. Its still a cool fish but not what I wanted

Got a lugabris pike generically labeled pike cichlid in with a mix of other pikes for $7. Later they figured it out and they were $75 ea. Also got a large zonatum labled red head paid $69 for him but @ almost 10" i think it was a good deal. Also the most common mislabling mayan labled as festae luckly i knew they were mayan which is what i wanted got 5 for $25.
