I hope so too, have you had any addition yet? Maybe a WC plat sen?
Haha unfortunately not. No more polys, insanely hard to find now. Got some snakeskin gouramis now and that's it :(

You’ll get there, you still young just enjoy them for know, once you start making your own money and can afford them you’ll end up with four poly tanks :D

Thank you, hows the new move going for you? Have you and your husband settled in yet?

I missed this group too and yeah the new house is a pain in the a**, did know having a total responsability is harder, no more parents to rely on on the bill, thats why my next target to get a poly tank is next years tax return but my wife wants me to get a big tank for the discus and put it in the living room to be a show tank.
And here are some pics of my discus

First i had black backround, sand and plants, but all of my friends said is better to remove the backround and go bare bottom so they will show more true color and wont camoflage with the surroundings, so i took it all out.

I hope so too, have you had any addition yet? Maybe a WC plat sen?
beautiful discus. I think I see some pigeon blood ones and marlboro reds. Can see why your wife wants you to put them in the living room. I remember that she said she wanted some "pretty fish." Then you can do a giant poly tank for you. hahaha.

Sad you took out the sand and the driftwood. That is one of the most beautiful tanks in my opinion( discus+sand+driftwood). That's interesting about the camouflage , I thought discus loved plants. You should do an experiment to see how much bare bottom affects the color. If it doesn't change it that much, I vote putting the wood and sand back in because it was an awesome aquascape. ;)

Trust me alot of people already did alot of experiment with substrate and discus.
Not all discus can be affected with substrate most discus that gets affected by it are the pegion blood and there are alot of different discus strains of pegion base blood out there.
Discus with stress bars dontget affected by substrate and black backround.

clm08k clm08k discus and substrate is difficult. With the amount that discus eat bare bottom is so so much easier. My friend breeds pigeon bloods, all his tanks are BB as well :)
