ok so i have a sand substrate tank with two large pieces of driftwood, a pike, a texas/FH type fish and a pleco... the main spots the crayfish hide are empty.... can they bury themselves under sand? i can't find them anywhere for the last 2 days... they were way smaller than my pike and texas but the texas ignores them(odd because she tries to murder and has murdered everything i put in there) and i don't think pike eat crayfish(could be wrong:irked:)

anyways im not going to search through the sand, just wondering if they do that... Thanks!

It probably escaped the tank. You will smell it in a few days.

smell two of them:(... how far can they crawl... i searched around the tank and nothing....

Itll crawl til it dries out and dies. Then itll smell like all hell.

i haven't seen them on the pike but my texas does have some good size teeth(made me bleed).... i thought crayfish's shell's were tougher than that? o well cool looking snacks for my cichlids i guess... i just hope they aren't crawling around getting ready to die, that would be the worst! my house is clean and organized so i have no idea where they could crawl too if they did escape....

do crayfish bury though....?

One of your cichlids probably ate it. You have very aggressive fish in with them. One time I was cleaning my tank and i notices one crawling along the flood, they will scurry pretty far.
