I just noticed this morning that my pleco is missing an eye :( I feel so bad for him. It is healed up and I am not sure how long ago this happened. It had to of been in the last 2 weeks.

I can only wonder if my spotted pictus did it. They are little jerks. My fourline pictus are so mellow but my spotted pictus fight with each other a lot and I know the pleco likes to go in where the spotted pictus are.

I am going to go get him some pvc and lay it under the rocks for him for his own cave and hope the pictus let him have it.

I feel bad for him :(

Don't worry too much the fish will be fine if it has healed over. If you have a lot of bottom dwellers make sure you have plenty of hides to limit the agression.

yeah what I have done is

On the left is a larger wrecked ship that 1 white pim, 2 spotted pictus sit in. The white pim could care less about the spotted pictus in there with him. The spotted pictus for the most part get along in there but do squabble at times. On top of the ship where the skull is, under the skull is home to another white pim she has claimed that since she was 2 inches long and now 5+inches lol she still fits.

To the right is where I have two large fake logs together. I did this to keep some room open on the bottom for the bottom dwellers to be able to swim back and forth. They can in the entire back of the tank. The open spot is "feeding spot"

There is two more small spotted pictus that moved in there, the pleco likes to go in there as well. My clown loaches go in there at times but when they are all hiding I have no idea where they go yet. I havent figured it out.

The pleco also sits on and lays behind the driftwood in there at times.

I dunno, i have plenty of places but none I think the pleco calls home.

I plan to get a 75gl tank that just the pleco, white pims and the clown loaches are going in to. I am already buying stuff for it but wont get the tank for another month or two.

Some plecos can be quite nomadic- can depend on the species or the gender (or both i suppose). Not usually a fan of the fake set up, but your tank looks really clean and nice.
