That kind of makes netting them all out more of a task than I thought it would be.

When getting the filter working, you might want to consider adding a UV steralizer. It should quickly take care of the green water, and keep it from ever coming back.
I probably will add one. Can i install it before the filter, or would that prevent it from cycling?
You want to install it after the filter and don't run it until after the filter is cycled. This is so that any debris/detritus will not block the UV rays from penetrating the bacteria/algae.
It is hardline 2 inch PVC. I am going to be installing a priming pot before the pump so it would be tons of work to do it after the filter is cycled. I have to do it the same time as when i am fixing the filter and installing the priming pot.
It should work well before the filter also. It should definitely still help out with the green water.
