Missing Ropefish

He was in the tank at lights out last night....in the tank when the lights came on this morning. Went and checked on everybody right before I left for work and no ropefish. My tank is sealed, but I checked under the tank and around it and no luck. My dogs are outside so no chance of them eating it. The only thing I can think of is he climbed in through the overflow on one my HOB filters, or burrowed into the rocks. Didn't have time to search either as I had to leave for work. Wish me luck...the search continues on my lunch break!!:grinno:
 
mine has been fascinated with a tiny hole under a rock lately, I think some food must have fallen through. Either way, ropefish could be anywhere lol. Ive had eels that just love the HOB and others that lived under the gravel that I never saw for YEARS at a time. tricky. GL with finding him
 
I am hoping that is the case....either than or in the HOB. Wouldn't surprise me, these guys hide everywhere!!!
 
Update!!! Ropefish has been found, still in the tank. There is a piece of wood/cave that I didn't think he could fit in. Shined my flashllight under it after searching in HOBs and under the tank again and there he was just hangin out. I am sure this isn't the last time I will have to search for him.

anarekist...hope you find yours!!! Shenanigans...I have lost many a spiney eel that way as well.

Eventhough they may be a pain my ropefish is still one of my all time favorites. It is the first fish someone notices when they look at my tank!!
