Missing Smaller Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I know the feeling, while my largest tank is only a 75 it's a real schlep to clean compares to my 8's or 15's. Nerite snails are great algae cleaners, make tonnes of solid waste but if you have a good flow system it shouldn't be an issue :D
They keep even my hi tech tanks spotless, nothing on the glass at all.

I will say I wish I had a much larger room for the tank. I was forced to put it in a corner with a lower ceiling over part of the tank. Makes it very hard to clean everything. With I had a long wall with a lot of space around the tank.

If your biggest issue is the algae, you should simply try and cut the light exposure. Run your lights only when your home since you dont have plants, and use blackout curtains over the windows whenever you aren't home. That should help with the algae issues at the very least.

I have no lights on the tank. Can’t until I fix the sunlight issue. I just installed curtains on one side and am using Velcro to make sure there are no gaps. There is a window high up over my front door that is the second source of light that I’m t trying to figure out. I was using a blanket to cover that side but am trying to see if I can use window film.

The only other factor would be nutrients in the water feeding the algae.
