Unfortunately the real question is what will you do with the GG when it's over a foot long? I had six of them when I had the pond up. Smallest was 18" long. Just isn't a fish for a tank smaller than three or four hundred gallons.

To answer this question. I do have to set up my 155 gallon real soon as it's just sitting in the garage. In which I can put in with my 27" silver arrowana. To quite frank, that was my original plan for both phases. Gouramy will get broadly large (20"+) and be fond of eating vegetables. Or... the Green Terror will eventually live up to its name. For the time being fingers crossed and all. I might as well enjoy this moment while it is all peaceful.

&... regarding the GG needing a larger tank. That is the plan. Mancave in the garage with a 300 gallon is my goal.

You'll need a much bugger tank for both species than a 155g down the road but you already know that.

When most people say they "have a larger tank waiting in the garage" they are full of BS. I know it's true because I helped him move that heavy beast into the garage!!! You need to light the fire on setting that bad boy up. I'm getting board working on my tanks, would love to lend you a hand soon. ;)

Update for day 1. So far, cardinal tetra are all there. Have observed some darting on cards. May be a bad sign or just being playful. Only time will tell. Cross my fingers. Just to let ya'll know. Giant Gouramy is well behaved in all aspects.

:ROFL::ROFL: everything past 180 lbs is all muscle LOL! I believe the term is "plush"

i have heard read and found that the fish in the tank before the fish is added they leave alone (may bully but wont eat) anything added after is pretty much going to disappear i the night if it isnt the same size or bigger. I have never delt with SAC`s. however I found this to be true wiyh all fish I have raised...When stalking a tank always introduce the most aggressive last .
