Yes, this morning I found some mites in my baby corn snake's cage. I want to get rid of these immediately.

First off, I understand I should put my snake in a plastic tub with some warm water. How deep should it be, and should I put any chemicals in it?

As for disinfecting the tank, will cleaning it with soap and water work?

I heard that Provent-a-mite works well-is it necessary to buy an anti-mite product? Ofcourse, I will be willing to buy one if so, I just want to see where I would be using it.

Whichever treatment you go with be very careful and follow the instructions of that mite treatment. There was a guy that was on BP.net that ended up killing his albino burmese because he applied it directly to the snake which is safe for some mite treatments but not for that one and the snake ended up dying in a couple hours. Sad story that I would hate to see happen to anyone.

Hi,yes cure your snake as fast as possible,if the mites get in your snakes eyes you will really have a big problem,if necessary go to a vet!

I wouldnt use any quemicals, its a corn snake, just give him daily shallow warm baths with nothing on it and house it in a very simple cage with daily subtrate changing untill all are gone;)

Or......you could actually make sure they're gone by using chemicals. Provent-a-mite works but costs an awful lot for a small can. Walmart has a lice bedding spray in the pharmacy section under the Equate brand which costs about $20 less and is exactly the same as Provent-a-mite.
