Had a chance to get one of these today at my lfs....It was only one inch, wondering if theres anything special about them...i know they only get to about 7 inchs so i would probly put it in my 20 gal tank...Anyone keep these?

Tetraodon Miurus
Pretty standard water conditions, max size of 6". Very fun one to keep. Also known as congo puffer. Personally I would get a red variety of miurus puffer. Best kept alone. Feeds primarily on other fish, unlike most puffers that will eat snails, and crustaceans. Freshwater only. Needs a gravel or sand to bury itself in.

You can feed them on standard puffer foods - prawn, mussel etc. I found a good way to feed them was to put the food onto a bent out paperclip so they can attack from below as they would in the wild. Here's a picture if that doesn't make any sense.

The blue is the bent out paperclip.

Awesome fish, keep them on sand so they'll bury. Also the colour of the sand will affect the fishes colour to an extent.

I bought a very red strain from Wes 3 years ago and he has grown very slow since inspite of being in a 40 gal tank. So to get to 7 inches might take a while. These guys are pretty active and very interactive. I'm sure you'll enjoy him.

When I got him, he was literally like 3/4". He has thickened up quite a bit. Just eyeballin him, he is around 4" or so. I'll get some pics up maybe tomorrow evening.
