Mixed 180 gallon SA tank

Love the tanks scape, I am a big fan of the natural look, I would just be careful with large rocks in the tank, I had a problem last year with my 75gl, directly under where I had large rocks in the corner, I noticed a slow leak, I drained the tank & resealed the bottom, needless to say was not fun, the tank now holds water with no problem, I kept the Driftwood & replaceed the large rocks with smaller ones, just something to be mindful of, not saying the leak was from the rocks but very possible, just wanted to share my experience & save you from any heartache, g/l

Ive never been much of a fan of silver dollars, but a school would probably be pretty nice. Another thought I had was a school of 40-50 pictus cats

never seen a shoal of pictus that numerous. you could definitely do some of the larger pims too like ornates or blochii but your tetras would definitely begin disappearing haha.

i almost think your idea is better though. they would dominate at feeding time. not even the severums would want to get in the middle of 50 ravenous pictus all swirling and thrashing around.

I was watching Rachel O'learys video last night, and I really liked the cat she had in with her Oscar. I loved how it felt everything with it's whiskers.

I stole the idea from Shedd Aquarium while I was there visiting. I forgot to take a pic/video, but here is a crappy one from YouTube.

The one Rachel has is a big 4 line pimodella.

Here is a nice picture of the shoal:

oh my garsh i never thought they would actually school so tightly like that. if you put something like that together i will donate my two pictus to you they would probably be much happier there than sharing a tank with my flowerhorn ha.

good night. an 800 gallon. if the rummynose dont work out you could load that thing with a serious school of silver dollars or chalceus. how far along are you into that build?

Sorry, I missed part of the post. I just finished the stand. It is ever so slightly over built. lol

They were shoaling like the picture pretty much the whole time I was observing them. It was pretty awesome.
