being that a flowerhorn allready had just about every ca cichlid in its gene pool....why bother. you will only be thinning a bloodline that was purposely breed using the best colored fish.

edit: thats not to say you wont get a few interesting colored fish......i just think the majority of the brood amount to little more than feeders

i would try breeding one with a bay snook, and im 94.011% sure it wasnt used in the creation of the FH and its possible because ive seen a red bay snook X trimac cross.
i would also breed with a jag or dovii, cuz that would be awesome. and maybe a jack dempsey

if you want nice kok breed it with a darmo parrot,.a kkp,.red mammon but expect only 10-20% of he whole batch will have big koks,.
