Mixing Africans and South Americans

I wouldn't because of the differences in diet. These fish have different dietary needs and while some mbuna like yellow labs can do ok on a meatier diet, others like acei, can get bloat and die if not given the correct food.
 
A Jag would not have been one of the cichlids I picked because of the potential for aggression. I haven't owned one myself, but certainly know how big and badass they can get.

I agree, I had an acei croak on me just because of this reason, I was growing out a bichir in there and the acei got some meat, and I couldnt stop it. if you want to mix, try africans that are omnivores, otherwise you're going to have a hard time feeding everyone properly

the above outlines the main problem. the way around it is matching the Africans that might not have the dietary conflict, such as carnivorous haps (dimidochromis, etc.) That being said the OP's stocklist has aggression issues that need to be dealt with as others have already posted
