mixing frontosas with central americans?

Overstocked can be maintained with large water changes and over filtration. Water movement through filter not necessarily a measure of capacity. I over filter as well at least three times the marketed levels by manufacturer. Still 50% weekly water changes.

The issue here is aggression overstocking. I had a maintenance account in a restaurant with over 200 mbuna cichlids in a 220, avg size 4 inches. Didn't lose a fish from aggression and water always looked great. Ran a sump with 10 gallons of bioballs and did 50% weekly water changes. When one male got aggressive then he would chase the intruder into the crowd and lose it.

Problem you can have is no where for a subdominant to run should someone get a scale up their ***. The jag, dempsey, and the oscar all have the potential for, and the ability to, create a single specimen tank overnight.

ok i will build a 5000 gallon for each of my fish lol
basic fish needs
1 food
2 clean water
3 room to move freely
and well thats it

I'm sorry you're not hearing what you want to and I'm sorry to be that guy. But the fish need enough room to move freely without encroaching on another fish's turf.

Approx 100g of tank space per adult oscar and a bit less for the rest (with a bit more for the jag) should do it. So with my original tank size suggestions, I was actually cutting you some slack.

Also, 10x turnover/hour is pretty standard. So 1100gph (which is probably what you've got on paper, not in practice) for a 125 is actually below where you want to be.

I'm not here to rain on your parade and I'll stop trying to make this point now, but I sincerely hope you pay some heed to what's being said, not just by me. Again, I believe you that everything is "fine" now, but it isn't a good situation, especially for the future.

ok i agree but all my oscars swim together and pretty sure they still would in a 500+ gallon tank so on the issue of other fish territories being encroached upon, they will always be in their territory. i agree with a single dovii being in a 210 but oscars are schooling fish in nature and there for share territories
