Mixing KnifeFish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I went back to the lfs this morning, and had another good look at these so called Tiger Knives.
And with a bit of research when I got back home, I have come to the conclusion that they are actually Centipede Knives.

Seems these are seen in fish shops from time to time.

Are they best kept on their own, like other knife fish?
Or is this one of the social species?

I've seen Centipede Knives labeled as Tiger Knives as well, just based on their striping.
I never had any luck keeping them with anything, as they always seemed to be the target in the tank. IMO, it's a species that is best kept alone, or with other Centipede Knives. ;) Cool to watch, but they aren't very active until night, and will spend the day laying on their side "playing dead".
