Mixing Rays in my community tank HELPPPp

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ya I'd b careful with rays and anything they can pin under them. My gars are long enough, but I watched my ray absolutely flatten and pin a 9" pacu that was dinner for sure if I didn't intervene. I'd say it too but 10000 people have already, mature male if you add a female make sure she is mature and u are ready for pups lol

OK...so I took the female out...got her in a tank alone, changing water and putting in stress coat.... she's eating and seems OK
I bought another MALE blue motoro...about the same size as the reticulated and tossed him in my community tank
within one day the blue motoro had a bit on his tail and one bite on the disc......
this retic is just plain MEAN though he didn't bug my discus at all
I've taken the retic out... he's alone in another tank

Long term you will probably have problems with a male and female motoro

And 2 males will probably fight

And 2 female will get to big for a 180 in 2 years max

It will probably be best to get a smaller less aggressive ray like hystrix and make sure they are true hystrix before buying
