I have a friend of mine who has a 600 gallon saltwater predator tank who has a dogface puffer, 2 golden puffers, a picasso trigger, a bursa trigger, and a clown trigger who get along VERY well as adults, they only fought once and that was for dominance. I asked my friend if he was worried and he said after they established their pecking order, it was all fine after that.

It can def work in tanks like that. Most people dont have tanks like that though.

Good idea to stick w/one. I've tried, as I'm sure many of us have w/ little ones. Sure they are OK for a while, but one day something is going to happen. In my experience the Undulated's are the meanest. I had to seperate mine from all other fish after he destroyed 3 other fish (trigger, trigger, and a angel). Hopefully others thinking about a tank like this will read this post first and act accordingly.

i agree the undulates are mean ass mo fo's i would suggest you get a trigger that is bigger

Every Undulate I've ever worked with was insanely aggressive. A beautiful fish with lotsa personality but one that shouldn't be trusted. One of my regular customers added a 3-4'' one to her 150gal predator tank and within days it had killed an 8'' clown trigger a showsize dogface puffer >and few other fish I can't remember). Her fish were dropping so fast she thought something was wrong with her water.

that's a good idea to only stick with one trigger, unless you get the more mild mannered species, or have a huge 600g system like dreamcatcher. i've had a blue-jaw in a 180 with a niger, and they have been doing just fine for a year and a half. there is no way i would have tried that with critters like the undulated or clown. they would have most likely torn their friendlier cousins to shreds by now.

I just added a pink tail trigger to my 215gswfo tank and it holds a blue throat which I have had for a year now, the pink tail is a bit bigger/older, like 6 inches opposed to my blue throat which is about 5 inches, both get along so far great, learning from one another, it's like the pink tail was in an aggressive tank prior to getting into my tank, just a feeling I got, he is watching and copying everything my blue throat does, like saying to himself....oh, it's time to swim, and the pink tail is teaching my blue throat how to hunt, eeeeek, there went the small gobie but so far everything else...hermit crabs, bleeny and small clowns and damsels, doing just fine.
The pink tail eats like a piggy but I am hoping soon he'll chill out and realize he doesn't have to gulp his food down, they are so cute though and eat from the same floating raft circle.

Thanks for your pics Craig, beautiful, looks like pink tails do good with blue throats, so cool, how big is your tank?

It all depends on your fish . But one thing i learned is not to put a undulate in a tank by him self he should be one of the last ones added.I have six triggers one is a beautiful 5inch undalate straight from the red sea to my tank all my triggers are hand caught i also have a blueline/6inch humuhumu/ 7inch pineapple/ 4inch clown / black indian trigger/ stars and stripes puffer hes my favorite and a 8inch white spotted grouper all living great together in a 75 gallon till i up grade to a 150gal. i think you will do great mixing triggers if your undulate havent took over your tank all ready. Dont get me wrong there will be some fighting between them but nothing serious a nip fin here and there but with good water conditons it should heal in days. A gang of triggers is a beatiful sight hopr it all works out.

i have a all trigger 120G tank. Smallest to largest... Undulate, Humu Humu, White Tail or Half Moon, Pink Tail, Blue Jaw, Blue Line, Black Hawaiian.

I been looking for a clown and seen one today. ill be going back o pick him up tomorrow.

Blue line is a bit mean. I might trade him off.
