mmmmm rat for breakfast

Went out to the fish house this morning,one of the 2foot rtc looked like it had swallowed a grapefruit,after a head count ,nobody missing i reckon it must have ate the rat i heard on the ceiling a week ago,it must have got in went down for a drink of water and got nabbed .theres no rocks or gravel in the tank,just logs and branches.does anybody know if a rat would do it any harm.

man that would be a hilarious rat trap ....if that really happened.hahahhaha....i know my tsn could definetly eat a grown rat. i feed him 2 tilapia fillets easy in a day

I doubt it would do it much harm. I'm sure in the wild they occasionally eat smaller rodents etc. It will pass the bones hopefully okay or spit it back out one or the other.

no problem there. It is not this one dose of mamal protein that will harm him.

you dont put out rat poison do you??? that would suck if the rat had ate some poison then fell in.

It shouldn't cause problems unless as said above you have rat poison out bringing in the risk of secondary poisoning......

no we dont use poison and we are out in the country so fingers crossed,still looks fine and was trying to steal food from other fish a short while ago
