Salvinis are not as common as you might think my lfs only sees them periodically so they are not as common as you might think and i have found that it is easier to unload common fish than rare i breed salvinis and never have a problem getting ride of them. i also use to breed trimacs and i unloaded the first batch and every store i sold them to is still full and have not sold a one i was shocked seems no one here knows what they are now i am gona stick with comein fish for a while such as jd,firemouth,salvini and i am thinking about picing up a trio of green sevs

you should most definatly breed convicts man. there super rare in this hobby, and not many people get it to work.

Never heard of them. Not really a huge fan of Amphilophus, but these are pretty cool looking.

Guys might lobb stones at me for saying this bc it is only a 55 gallon tank but if you're looking for something "rare" how about some Istlanums? Now when I say "some" I mean you can buy some 1" growouts and weed out some to get a pair. They're on Aquabid for $15 ea. and you can get 4-6 of them.... not saying that they'll get along forever as a "pair".... you might need a pass-thru divider for the female to escape the males aggression but it might be worth it.
