I thought I'd share with you guys this unique little parrot i found a while ago.
I call her a "notch parrot" or "mohawk parrot". She is missing a peice of the front of her dorsal fin and.. well you can see what the mutation is. I am going to try to breed her when she gets bigger to see if I can get some mohawk babies.

I've been seeing more and more parrots with the massive slope in place of the deep notch before the head. It's an interesting deformity. I like the short body midas and the herd of parrots.

lol I would call that a flock of parrots not a herd it just sounds better. Nice collection by the way you have any breeding projects going on?

not really right now I sold most of my red devil males but I was trying to cross rd x parrot for a while to get more sb midas.
I still have this little dude tho

was gunna try to cross him with a parrot but so far no luck with the only female i have that is big enough. Does anybody know a cheap way to get big female parrots around oklahoma? I would settle for texas tho. I just cant afford to ship a bunch of fish from cali right now.

Otherwise I have a pearly fh female I'm trying to pair with a jack dempsey, day two of that now

.

Does anyone know if they are big enough to start spawning yet?

anyways those are the only crossbreed projects i have going. I'm kind of starting from scratch to try and make a strain, as crappy zz fh and bp are the only thing we can get around here without shipping. For the future I'm looking for more fh, nice rainbow vieja breeds or texas.. though they are rare here.
If anyone lives around OK and would be interested in helping let me know.

Also, anyone have suggestions on what I should cross the mohawk parrot with once it gets bigger? I'm thinkin midas or a fader but I'm open to suggestions.

My long term plan for these experiments is to develop a strain of kamfa that includes several outcrossed species. I hopin ill have one in idk 15 years or so lol.

It's an interesting deformity that's for sure. The fish looks like its healthy and gets around well despite this deformity.
