molly x guppy - GOLLY LOL

Your best bet is to raise some molly and guppy fry together and weed out the male guppies as the fish age so you can be sure your females are virgins. Otherwise, you'll just end up with pure guppies. The females can store sperm for quite a long while.
 
Wouldn't it be safer to use the molly as a female? mollys are larger and I would be worried the fry might grow too large in a female guppy. I also read that they are all male. I saw a picture of a supposedly female one but its features were kind of on the fence. Also they are sterile, at least males are. No one knows if its possible for a female ore if it would be fertile.
I built a 30 gallon cylindrical tank out of a bucket and some acrylic so I might have a project for it now :D

The picture looks kinda real... or it could be a rare guppy fin shape/morph...
 
I have been thinking of trying both sex combinations of sailfin ballon molly x guppy. I would like to have fish with long guppy tails and sailfins and it would be an interesting comparison. Do you think this would work in rubbermaid tubs? I was thinking about 2 40 gallon or so rubbermaid tubs with undergravel filters and the whole bottom covered with thick spawning mops. I could move the babies out with a siphon or by moving the mops and move them to glass aquarium where I could take a record of what each fish looks like in an effort to map the possible phenotype. I will post a few pics on here and put the rest on the website i am building
